Cal "Griffith" and Cappy "Fife"...

This is Cal. Cal is fluffy. Cal has blue eyes. Cal has always been my snuggle munchkin.

Always has been a good one for the camera, that Cal...

Cal is the biggest of the baby four. Though Pastel vied for top position with her smarts and mean streak, ultimately Cal won out anyway. When he was small, he decided he was going to give everyone a really good thrashing so that he'd only ever have to tell them again once before they backed down. His strategy was a good one. Now he's a pretty relaxed dude. And he's always been a sugar pie for his Momma.

He gets along just fine with Doodle. Maybe that's just
because Doodle is super lazy and doesn't know how
to fight...

When I introduced them to the outside, Captain Freakout got super excited and wanted to fight everybody so he can be the new boss. Ami was like, "I'm a girl you dork." and Doodle thought any sort of touch was affection, so he treated Cappy like he was just preening him again. He didn't fight Pastel because he's in love with her and he knows she's a girl. He just ran up to her and purred and cooed about how pretty she looks in the sun. Then he finally went to go fight Cal. Cal pretty much rubbed him off with marked disinterest. Why fight for boss-man position when you are already the undisputed boss-man?

In front, Cappy, then Cal, and little Ami by the stick

You know what, the relationship these two have sort of remind me of an old TV show. Ever seen these guys?

Barney Fife and Andy Griffith

Barney is Captain Freakout, the little guy who would like to be the big dog, who thinks he's the big dog, who Cal (Andy) sometimes lets think he is the big dog, but really Cal has always been the big dog and Cappy never will be. That's okay, Captain, we still love you and your strange amusing antics.

...I guess that makes Doodle poor old Otis, huh?
